This is the title of a song written many years ago. Recently as we were praying about some of the things going on in our country, that song title came to mind. The song deals with an immoral situation, and for sure, we are experiencing immorality in America today as never before. The moral compass of our nation has switched drastically in recent years. Our only hope is to have the brakes applied, and avoid a head on collision with God. To see this, we need God’s people to repent and return to Him! How we pray for a God sent, Holy Ghost Revival of the Church today!

God is not unaware of what is happening. We read from His Word as the Church Age comes to a close and the appearing of our Lord hastens, there are things we are too look for. They are around us constantly, and immorality certainly has a spot on the list, however, there is much more that brings on the judgment of God. It is easy for many Christians to look at the sins of others and blame them. However, what about those things that are not as readily noticed! For example, let us take a look at the common belief that it was immorality that brought judgment on Sodom! Indeed, it was one of the reasons, but there were others also. A closer look at God’s Word reveals those things.

Eze 16:49-50 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

We need revival, not just meetings, but an honest God sent Revival, one like the old Welch revivals when those men working the mines were saved, they were so changed that even the mules they worked could no longer understand what they were to do! Why? Because as a result of those men coming to Jesus Christ, even their language changed!

Yes the brakes need to be applied to stop this speeding vehicle called our world. A world which is heading 90 mile per hour down a dead end street! Without God, those riding this wave of ungodly behavior, will be hitting a wall at the end of the street, and the collision will not be pretty! The brakes are not applied by any political group, they must be applied by God’s people as they heed the conditions found in; 2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Yes, we may humble ourselves, pray, and seek God’s face, those are easy to do. However, many need to do the fourth thing, which calls for repentance. What is it? “Turn from their wicked ways.” May God shower us with His blessings as we all respond to His Word; may our hearts be touched and the mighty body of Christ be moved, as we fulfil God’s command in 2 Chronicles 7 :14.
